Leaking Liquid Gold

It's been a long time since I've had a new baby in the house. Keaton just turned 5 on the day Willie was born and it's definitely taking some getting used to. Today was just a gentle reminder of that.

Willie had been asleep for a while at this point and so Keaton and I were doing some silly bonding. This particular activity involved putting stickers all over our face and seeing who could find the funniest place to put a sticker.

All of the sudden I feel something wet seeping through my shirt and look down to find two perfectly round wet spots that are increasing in size by the second. I have once again leaked through my shirt. At this point I have to decide either to wake the baby or go pump because now I'm just wasting milk. I decide on the former because he's been sleeping for a bit and he could wake hungry any minute.

I pick him up and try to get him to latch on. He doesn't. I'm not sure what's going on because he should be hungry (my body is telling me he is). He's a little squirmy and starts to do some stretches. Oh good, that will wake him up and he can eat. As he stretches once more I hear a more unpleasant noise. One that indicates he will need a fresh diaper soon. I usually wait a minute or so because he usually has more. As predicted I hear another sound. I’m feeling pretty good about my mommy instincts of knowing he wasn't finished (it's the little things) and am getting ready to get up when I feel something else wet dripping on my thigh.

Now I know I have a lot of milk leakage but it shouldn't be dripping all the way down there. I lift the baby and get a peek at the situation. I groan. The leakage was coming from him, right out the side of the diaper and onto my leg and the surrounding areas. I tilt him over to the other side and have my 5 year old go get me wipes and a fresh diaper. I wipe down the baby's leg and then mine using about 25 wipes and then get ready to lay him down and change his diaper.

As I lift him up I notice my other leg, the one that was near his mouth when I turned him, is now covered in chunky white spit up. At this point I just leave it and change Willie's diaper so that doesn't leak any further. I get done changing him and then clean off my leg and feeling a little defeated at the moment because I'm also still leaking milk. I look over at my precious baby boy. He looks happy, dare I say pleased with himself. I smile too and get back to my original intent; to provide my baby his nutrition.

Back To Basics

Wow, it’s been a really long time since I have updated anything on my blog. There have been so many changes and life events in the past 5 plus years. Catching up with things of importance is going to be challenging. Close friends and relatives that are connected with me on Facebook know much of what has been happening with me and my family but for my blog I will briefly go over what I feel is important to keep this as up to date as possible.

The past five years have brought our family many emotions and taken us on many adventures.  For starters, we no longer live in Nevada. After my divorce in June 2014 I decided to move to Boise, Idaho and make that our home. Boise had a lot more potential new opportunities for us and we have family here.

Our move was a difficult transition. The kids and I moved August, 3 2014 and I started a new job on August 25, 2014. I work at a call center taking inbound calls for tech support and customer service. At the time it was just a job. Steady hours, good pay, benefits and I needed something to get me back on my feet. I am still working there. The pay has increased over the years and so I have stayed.  I feel I’ve learned a lot and have gained a lot of skills that I could use in many different positions and jobs.

During the beginning of my employment I was put on my first team. I didn’t know or talk to many of them until one of them accidentally began saving my spot every day next to him and then it became a routine. We started getting to know each other better and eventually started dating in early 2015. Will and I were together for almost 2 years before he asked me to marry him on Christmas eve 2016 and of course a said yes. We were married April 15th, 2017. We were also expecting a baby boy. Willie James Coleman arrived a few weeks later on May 2, 2017. My oldest son Keaton was thrilled. He got a baby brother for his birthday. Keaton was born on May 2, 2012.

The rest of 2017 was a blur for me, newly married to the love of my life, raising a brand new baby and settling into a new home. We have had a lot of joy, wonder, adventures and struggles along the way. We have so many things to be grateful for in our lives.

This year, 2018 has brought me a lot of very trying times. I was diagnosed with depression about 6 months ago and have been getting continued care. My mental state has improved greatly since I first started to seek medical help. I still struggle on a daily basis with anxiety and depression but on a much more manageable level and I continue to improve.

I am planning on going into more detail in further post on many of the events that I have briefly gone over here and on other events and stories that are not in here. I just wanted to get things started back up. I know that there are still a lot of holes but here are the basics, the major events and the start of getting back to being me and getting stronger.
